Arsenal have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer hope as Chelsea consider raiding rivals | Football | Sport

The Arsenal captain is said to be happy in London and it is added that he has not sought to force an exit – at least not yet.

The north London club had pushed talks back until the end of the season but with the coronavirus pandemic causing heavy disruption to the footballing calendar, those plans may have changed.

Arteta has made it clear he wants to keep Aubameyang under any circumstances, but if the player shows a desire to leave, Arsenal may have little choice but to sell him.

And Chelsea are poised to raid their rivals of their top scorer if that scenario arises.

Rival clubs are said to believe there is an ever-increasing chance that Aubameyang will indeed be sold on by the Gunners later this year, with Inter Milan and Barcelona among the other clubs with known interest.

Express Sport understands Inter boss Antonio Conte is desperate to link up with the former Borussia Dortmund frontman, though his £200,000-a-week wages may prove an issue.

Meanwhile former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley, speaking on ESPN FC, said of the Blues’ interest: “Absolutely I would go for it if I was Chelsea.

“If he wants to make that move and it’s on the table [go for it].
