Australian Grand Prix coronavirus fears as McLaren and Haas staff put in self-isolation | F1 | Sport

Drivers have been instructed not to interact too closely with fans, including avoiding selfies, to minimise the risk of them contracting the disease.

A two-metre exclusion zone will also be in place when the drivers conduct their media duties in the Albert Park paddock on Thursday.

Other sports have been hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak, with Manchester City’s Premier League showdown against Arsenal the latest football fixture to be postponed.

Members of Arsenal staff and some of the playing squad have been placed in self-isolation after coming into contact with Nottingham Forest and Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis, who announced on Tuesday he has coronavirus, following their Europa League clash against the Greek side last month.

Arsenal will welcome the affected staff and players back to training on Friday, however, and should return to action against Brighton on Saturday.
