Cath Kidston closes UK stores: Full list of store closures – which high streets hit?

Vintage-inspired retailer Cath Kidston announced the news that it is to close all of its stores across the UK, following talks with administrators. The brand has 60 stores across the UK – which British high streets will be affected? Full list of closures here.

Known as a ‘pre-pack’ deal, the company was put into administration earlier this month and will now be back as a much smaller business.

Melinda Paraie, chief executive officer of Cath Kidston, commented: “While we are pleased that the future of Cath Kidston has been secured, this is obviously an extremely difficult day as we say goodbye to many colleagues.

“Despite our very best efforts, against the backdrop of Covid-19, we were unable to secure a solvent sale of the business which would have allowed us to avoid administration and carry on trading in our current form.

“I would like to thank all our employees for their hard work, loyalty and patience over the last few weeks as we worked through this process.”

Cath Kidston was set up in 1993, with its first shop opening in Holland Park in West London.
