Cheltenham Races 2020: Style at racecourse includes bejewelled coronavirus mask

Cheltenham Festival 2020 is underway today and will go on until Friday 13 March. Racing fans turn out in their best clothes today, for the Gloucestershire meeting.

One woman made a bold fashion statement wearing a bejewelled coronavirus mask.

The woman wore a black face mask hooked over her ears. The pink gems matched with her magenta coat.

She wore a black coat beneath the coat, which was complemented by leather gloves in hot pink.

Her hat was a bright shade of pink, and featured two large blooms on it.

Another race fan was also taking precautions, However, she wore a standard green surgical mask with her red and black check coat.

The illness worries didn’t stop style fans dressing up for the event.

One wore an eye-catching all tartan look, which was very low cut.

The woman added a red fur cape and a red rose-inspired hat.

She carried a black Dior bag, gloves and heels.

The Jockey Club wrote: “As we race largely during the winter months, the weather can be unpredictable, so we would advise you to dress accordingly.

“At The Festival™ presented by Magners, many ladies wear hats, but we recommend you have the weather as well as fashion in mind.

“Gentlemen usually wear a suit or similar in the Club Enclosure and in restaurants and hospitality facilities.”

It adds: “Fancy dress is permitted as long as the outfit is not offensive and we reserve the right to decline entry should the need arise.”
