According to the Money Advice Service, falling behind on council tax payments can be a serious concern.

Delays can cause families to fall into worrying debt spirals.

As an example, if a person’s council tax bill was £167 a month, but they missed the year’s first payment that would suddenly generate a debt of £1,671 according to the Money Advice Service.
