Dewsbury explosion: Front blown off house in major incident – fire rages | UK | News


The blast occurred today at 11.37am, with West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue called to Crescent Walk in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury. Five crews have been dispatched from Cleckheaton Mirfield, Dewsbury, Rastrick, Ossett and Morley. A helicopter from Wakefield is also on the scene.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “We were called at 11.37 to reports of an explosion at a property on Crescent Walk.

“We have crews at the scene from, Cleckheaton Mirfield, Dewsbury, Rastrick, Ossett and Morley plus the aerial appliance from Wakefield.”

An image uploaded to Twitter showed a house in flames with the front apparently blown out by the force of the blast.
