Elvis Presley archives reveal personal items secrets for Inside Graceland video | Music | Entertainment

The King of Rock and Roll had many personal items over his years living at Graceland. And following his death in 1977, many of them have been put into an Elvis Presley archive and are now on display for fans to see at Graceland. During lockdown and the museum’s closure, staff at the Memphis mansion have been sharing videos from inside to keep fans entertained.

The latest from Director of Archives Angie Marchese takes place from inside The Graceland Archives Experience.

A new Instagram post reads: “Get a Closer Look at Some of Elvis’ Items.

“While Graceland is closed, we’ll bring #Graceland to you!

“Check out this video to get a closer look and learn more about some of the artefacts on display at our Archives Experience.”

The water was sourced in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with a few bottles from his last tour in 1977 being on display and more cases featuring in the archives.

Angie then moved on to gifts given to Elvis.

They included a Holy Bible from the entourage in the Christmas of 1962.

And then there were some records from his personal collection and some books since the King was such an avid reader.

While Graceland is closed, the museum has been showing a sign of solidarity with fans.

Reflecting Elvis’ patriotism, Graceland has been flood lit in the red, white and blue of the American flag.

The Memphis mansion will keep the display up for the remainder of the shutdown.

Fans can even watch the lighting on a live cam from Graceland’s official website.

As it stands Graceland will reopen on May 1, but the closure could well be extended.
