Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend Josie Harris found dead in her car at 40 by police | Boxing | Sport

Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend Josie Harris has passed away at the age of 40, it has been reported. Harris, whom Mayweather has three children with, is said to have been found dead outside of her home in Valencia, California on Tuesday night.

According to TMZ, Harris was found by LA County Sheriffs unresponsive in her car. She is said to have been pronounced dead at the scene.

At this moment in time, Harris’ untimely death is not being treated as suspicious.

The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department confirmed Harris’ passing on its official website and revealed an investigation is currently ongoing.

“Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators have responded to the death of a woman,” an excerpt from the public report read.

In September 2010, Harris, filed a domestic battery report against the legendary boxer, whom she had accused of battery before.

However, unlike her previous accusation – which was dropped – the case went to court and Mayweather was sentenced to 90 days behind bars – though he only served two months of that sentence.

“I was a battered woman,” Harris said after Mayweather was convicted. “I felt embarrassed about saying I was a battered woman.

“I felt shame. I felt like it was my fault. What did I do? I didn’t understand what a battered woman was at that time. Now I know I was in a very dysfunctional, hostile relationship and a victim of domestic violence.”

Harris’ interactions with Mayweather became few and far between after his conviction, though she still felt nervous whenever the boxer came to collect their children.

She said: “For some reason, I still get anxiety when I know that he is on his way. I have no idea why, but I get really overwhelmed when I know that I have to be around him.”

To this day, Mayweather insists Harris’ claims of domestic violence stemmed from habitual drug use. Harris vehemently refuted that claim, so much so she filed a £15million ($20million) lawsuit – which has yet to be resolved – against the 43-year-old.

Mayweather, who is currently in Europe on a speaking tour, has yet to speak out on the death of his former partner and mother of three of his four children.
