Ghostbusters reunion: Late Harold Ramis praised by Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd | Films | Entertainment

The 1984 supernatural comedy is much-loved around the world and next year is getting another outing. But in the meantime, Josh Gad has held a Ghostbusters reunion with the cast and director for charity on his Reunited Apart YouTube series. The virtual meet-up follows his reunions of Lord of the Rings and Back to the Future casts among others.

During the Ghostbusters reunion, Gad asked the stars about their fond memories of working with Egon actor and co-screenwriter Harold Ramis, who sadly died in 2014.

Bill Murray, who teared up with a tribute to his friend at the Oscars after his death, said: “He was always very kind to me, always gracious.

“He always treated me as my brother’s little brother.

“He never was mean to me, especially on this hard one; this was a hard movie to make.”

Winston Zeddemore star Ernie Hudson added: “Harold was the guy who helped me make sense out of everything.

“What was happening, what was going on.

“I give him a lot of credit for how I’ve been able to sustain myself in this industry.

“Just his practical, common-sense approach to work and I just really appreciated him.”

While Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman said: “I sure miss him, I keep thinking of him as sort of a brother figure.

“I ended up working with him about five times, he’s really missed.”

Murray, Aykroyd, Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts reprise their roles in the official Ghostbusters III next year, directed by Ivan’s son Jason Reitman.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits UK cinemas on March 26, 2021.
