Gnats and fruit flies love decomposing food, especially sweet fruits.

One way to get rid of these flies is to set up a fruit fly trap.

Buy a disposable fruit fly trap online and set it up with the trap lid open.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Don’t have time to get your hands on a fruit trap? Make your own with apple cider vinegar.

All you need is a container, apple cider vinegar, sugar, washing up liquid and water.

Pour two tablespoons of the vinegar, one of sugar, a few squirts of washing up liquid, and half a cup of warm water into a container.

Mix the solution until the sugar starts to dissolve, and then place it next to the infected areas.

The flies will be attracted into the container and won’t be able to escape the water due to the washing up liquid.

Set a few of these up in the room or area they frequent, as one won’t be enough.

All you need for this hack is a candle and no sunlight.

Place a lit candle on a tray near the fly-infested area and the flies will fly to the flame.

Either way, the flame or the hot watery wax will kill the flies.

Adding washing up liquid to the candle’s wax pool will make sure they don’t come back.
