Kate Middleton news: Duchess Cambridge Royal Wedding secret EXPOSED – Royal Family latest | Royal | News

Ms Fiorito told the Royally Obsessed podcast: “Kate’s dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

“The wedding took place roughly a year after McQueen’s tragic death.

“And I know Kate is a huge fan of Alexander McQueen so I think that was a very nice gesture.”

The royal commentator went on to explain how a royal secret had to be kept about who the dress was for.

She said: “To maintain secrecy about the dress, I love this fun fact, the Royal School of Needlework was told the dress would be used as a costume in a TV show. And that cost was no object.

“So they told the students that in order to keep it secret.”

Ms Fiorito then explained what else Kate wore on her big day and revealed the total cost of the opulent occasion.

She said: “She also wore the Queen’s Cartier Halo tiara which has nearly a thousand diamonds.

“And the total cost of all this extravagance was a whopping $34million (£27million).

“But the security made up the bulk of that cost.”

Kate, 38, and William, 37, are currently residing in their Norfolk bolthole, Anmer hall, which was a wedding present from Her Majesty the Queen.

The royals are believed to enjoy spending time there with their children, Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, who celebrated her fifth birthday on Saturday and two-year-old Prince Louis.

Kensington Palace on Wednesday thanked the public for congratulating the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their ninth wedding anniversary.

Sharing an image on social media of William and Kate leaving Westminster Abbey as newlyweds, the Palace said: “Nine years ago today – thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!”

The Cambridges usually celebrate their anniversary privately.

This year they had no option but to mark the occasion in lockdown.
