Kate Middleton news: Duchess of Cambridge wore a pair of the Queen’s mysterious earrings

Kate appears to have had these earrings on long term loan. In fact, the Duchess wore them first in 2016 for a Place2Be function.

They have also been referred to as the Diamond Frame Earrings.

The Duchess appears to be a huge fan of these pretty pieces, even wearing them on an overseas trip to Oslo for a black tie event, when she paired them with her favourite brand Alexander McQueen.

She wore them to mark the RAF’s 100th anniversary and to the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. The list foes on, but needless to say the Duchess loves them.

Unlike some royal jewellery, however, these pieces provenance has never been revealed.

They have never been seen before 2012 when they were worn by the Queen, leading it to see likely they are a new acquisition for the Monarch.

The Queen, Charles, Camilla, Kate, William, Sophie, Edward and Anne all thanked thank local volunteers and key workers in the quadrangle of Windsor Castle.

The Royal Party listened to a selection of Christmas carols performed by The Salvation Army Band, before meeting Commissioners Anthony and Gillian Cotterill – the Territorial leaders of The Salvation Army in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

Windsor Castle is the final stop on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s tour of England, Scotland and Wales by Royal Train, during which Their Royal Highnesses have paid tribute to the work of individuals and organisations in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Kate and William met members of the public there, and enjoyed the music of the Salvation Army Band. The couple have been on a Royal Train tour across the UK in the past few days.
