Man Utd news: Louis van Gaal reveals Tottenham offer from Daniel Levy before United move | Football | Sport

Van Gaal spent two seasons at United and won the FA Cup in 2016, which marked the first major piece of silverware in the post-Ferguson era.

The Dutchman was sacked in 2016 shortly after lifting the cup following a series of hapless performances marred by unwatchable football and was replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Van Gaal hasn’t coached any teams since his departure from Old Trafford for which he blames executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, whom he dubbed an “evil genius”.

He added: “I blame Ed Woodward, my CEO at Manchester United, much more than Mourinho. In my view, Woodward is the evil genius.”
