Solskjaer previously expressed his belief that the club were in a financial position to exploit the transfer market, which is likely to be greatly changed by the coronavirus crisis.

The Red Devils have been linked with a number of mega-money transfers this summer but supremo Woodward has warned clubs may not be able to spend big because of the financial ramifications of COVID-19.

“Nobody should be under any illusions about the scale of challenge facing everyone in football,” said Woodward.
