Prince William vs Prince Harry: ‘Grudges and hurts building up’ threaten royal reunion | Royal | News

Prince William and Prince Harry held “inconclusive” talks following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell interview with talk show host Oprah Winfrey in early March. The brothers were believed to be on the path to reuniting after their relationship grew fraught but the interview threw the reconciliation into doubt. Royal biographer Anna Pasternak told Fox News: “Given what’s been put out there in the public arena, the brothers and the family look quite fragile at the moment.

But it’s clear they desperately need healing as they prepare to stand shoulder to shoulder in honour of their mother.

“And I think the grudges and the hurts seem to be building up on both sides and widening the rift between the brothers, as opposed to lessening it.”

Prince Harry was expected to head back to the UK in the early summer to celebrate the Duke of Edinburgh’s 100th birthday in June and later attend the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue at Kensington Palace.

But with travel restrictions still in place on journeys between the US and the UK, and Meghan Markle due to deliver the couple’s second child in the summer, the Duke of Sussex’s plans may still be forced to change.

The statement read: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”

Prince William briefly broke away from the Queen’s preferred response when asked about whether the Royal Family was “racist,” to which he simply replied: “We are very much not a racist family.”
