Princess Anne: Royal wears mysterious gold jewellery in new video – rare sighting of littl

Appearing in a blue coat, with her hair in her idiosyncratic coiffure, the senior royal addressed the nation. The video captures Princess Anne in a stately room, with large pink roses on the mantelpiece in front of a large ornate mirror.

The video was posted alongside a caption, which read: “To mark the International Day of the Midwife, The Princess Royal, Patron of @midwives_rcm, thanks midwives across for the UK for their great care and compassion in these difficult times. #IDM2020

“Over the past few weeks, hundreds of student midwives have voluntarily stepped into clinical roles, and retired midwives have rejoined the front line to support their colleagues as they care for pregnant women and new babies at a time when they are especially vulnerable.”

In her statement Anne made a nod to new midwives and those coming out of retirement in this difficult time.

Eagle-eyed royal fans may have noticed the Princess Royal was wearing an interesting brooch.

While this might seem the norm for the average person, royals such as Anne often wear jewellery they are given as gifts, or borrow from the Queen.

With a huge array of trinkets to choose from already in the Queen’s private collection, most working royals regularly borrow from it.

The brooch, which was seen on Anne in Tring in February 2016, can offer an insight into Anne’s personal taste.

Anne last wore the brooch in September 2019, to an event celebrating 200 years of Henry Poole banking with Coutts, and the book launch of Henry Poole & Co: The First Tailor of Savile Row.

Anne rarely wears this piece, often borrowing more lavish pieces from the Queen’s collection.

Kate Middleton wowed in a video today, also doing her bit to celebrate the work of midwives.

In the video, Kate spoke to a mum who has given birth only the night before.

The Duchess of Cambridge said: “Oh my gosh you must be exhausted.”

She wore baby blue, donning a blue top with white chevrons, with pretty gold hoops in her years.
