When does Project Power come out on Netflix?

Project Power comes on Netflix on August 14, so there is little time to wait for fans.

What is Project Power about?

The official synopsis from Netflix reads: “On the streets of New Orleans, word begins to spread about a mysterious new pill that unlocks superpowers unique to each user.

“The catch: You don’t know what will happen until you take it. While some develop bulletproof skin, invisibility, and super strength, others exhibit a deadlier reaction.

“But when the pill escalates crime within the city to dangerous levels, a local cop (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) teams with a teenage dealer (Dominique Fishback) and a former soldier fuelled by a secret vendetta (Jamie Foxx) to fight power with power and risk-taking the pill in order to track down and stop the group responsible for creating it.”

The story behind how these people meet and are driven to fight against this crime, however, is also important as they turn to working together in the shocking turn of events.

Who is in the cast of Project Power?

Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are the main leads, starring as ex-soldier Art and police officer Frank.

Alongside them is Dominique Fishback, a relative newcomer known for her tole in The Hate U Give, playing Robin, a teenager who joins the two men in their fight.

Machine Gun Kelly plays Newt in an uncredited role, while Love Actually’s Rodrigo Santoro plays Biggie.

Courtney B. Vance plays Captain Crane, Amy Landecker plays Gardner and Tait Fletcher plays Wallace.

Is there a trailer for Project Power?

There is a trailer for Project Power, but for those who wish to keep some of the plot a surprise, it is best to avoid it.

However, for those who are happy to know what the trailer shows, it begins with Jamie Foxx’s Art asking the audience: “If there was a pill that could give you five minutes of pure power, would you take it?”

As he speaks, various people are seen taking the pill, being dealt it, and turning into everything from icemen to balls of fire.

It is then clear one man is trying to sell it, saying the project is for “the advanced evolution of the human species,” though clearly he means to “stabilise it, then weaponise it.”

The only issue is those taking the pill don’t know the power they possess until they take the pill, and this power can become something which kills you, like one man who burns up and explodes.

Soon, the trailer reveals what happened to Art to make him want to catch the supplier: they have taken his daughter, who is the source of the pill’s power.

The big question is, will the new trio be able to harness their knowledge and power to defeat the bad guys?
