They then met with Commissioners Anthony and Gillian Cotterill, the Territorial leaders of The Salvation Army in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth thanked The Salvation Army for the work they have done during the pandemic and will continue to do over the Christmas period.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and The Princess Royal, then greeted a number of local volunteers and key workers from organisations and charities in Berkshire.

Though it was a chilly evening, the entire family showed up, opting for an array of colourful yet elegant winter jackets.
