  • Arsenal should offer a £300,000-a-week new contract to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
  • Chelsea are one of four clubs who have had an offer accepted for Lille’s Gabriel Magalhaes

Wanted: Jonathan Ikone

Manchester United are interested in Lille star Jonathan Ikone.

That’s according to French publication Le Quotidien du Foot, who claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are closely following the France international.

Ikone, an attacking midfielder who can operate on either flank, was the subject of interest from Lyon in January but wouldn’t pay Lille’s £62million valuation.

The report claims Lille expect their talented 21-year-old to leave this summer with United, Everton and Sevilla all monitoring the situation.

Wanted: Victor Osimhen

Several European heavyweights are queuing up to sign Lille star Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, 21, arrived from Belgian outfit Charleroi in July 2019 for a bargain £10million plus a further £2.5m in add-ons.

And he’s already proved an astute acquisition having scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances for the Ligue 1 side – including two in the Champions League.

Now, French publication Le Quotidien du Foot claim he’s attracted interest from Premier League quartet Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Roma and Napoli are also said to be interested in Osimhen, who is said to command a fee in the region of £90million.

Willian opens the door

Willian has confirmed that he wishes to stay in the Premier League next season, giving hope to Arsenal and Tottenham over a potential transfer.

The Brazilian star is out of contract at Chelsea and is yet to agree a new deal with the club.

Negotiations broke down after Willian refused an offer of a two-year extension – in itself a rarity considering Chelsea’s aversion to giving out long-term contracts to players over the age of 30.

However, the 31-year-old wants a three year deal and a pay rise which the Blues are unwilling to facilitate.

Any further talks have been put on hold due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, so it is looking ever more likely that Willian will depart Stamford Bridge when his contract expires.

“My desire is to stay in the Premier League, but I don’t rule out playing in other leagues,” Willian told ESPN. “I’m going to play until the end of the season and see what happens.”

Ashley Young wants to stay

Ashley Young wants to extend his stay at Inter Milan.

The former Manchester United star arrived at the San Siro in January on an initial six-month contract but his future is uncertain given the global coronavirus pandemic.

“Of course I do. I love Italy, Milan, the warmth of the fans,” Young told Corriere Della Sera when asked if he’d like to stay for another season.

“I want to stay and win. I’m learning the language, the people are very passionate. When you talk, you actually scream.”

Harry Kane pursuit

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward would ‘relish’ the opportunity to sign Tottenham talisman Harry Kane.

That’s according to the Evening Standard, who claim the 13-time Premier League champions wouldn’t be deterred by the England captain’s astronomical price-tag.

It’s believed Kane, who is contracted to Spurs until June 2024, would cost upwards of £200million.

But the Evening Standard say United have the financial muscle to pull off the transfer with both Woodward and the Glazers prepared to back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘heavily’ this summer.

The report says Woodward would ‘relish’ the chance to ‘lock horns’ with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Jadon Sancho or Serge Gnabry

Barcelona should target wingers like Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho or Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry.

That’s according to Nou Camp legend Xavi, who is also sceptical about the return of PSG’s Neymar because of ‘social reasons.’

I’d sign wingers, a Neymar type; I don’t know if he’d fit in for social reasons but footballistically I have no doubt he’d be a spectacular signing,” Xavi said.

“Barca can already play inside but they lack wingers like Bayern Munich have. It doesn’t need many additions: maybe Jadon Sancho or Serge Gnabry.”

The asking price

Barcelona are struggling to meet Inter Milan’s asking price for striker Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez, 22, is viewed as the ideal long-term replacement for Luis Suarez and far more affordable than PSG superstar Neymar.

But there’s a problem.

Italian publication Calciomercato claim Antonio Conte’s side want £71million in cash and aren’t interested in Barcelona’s attempts to send players in exchange.

Martinez has a £102million release clause in his contract that Barcelona are unable to trigger because of Financial Fair Play restrictions.

Yeferson Soteldo dream

Venezuela international Yeferson Soteldo “dreams” of playing for Manchester United.

Soteldo, 22, has recently been linked with a £32million deal to Everton having scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 36 appearances for Brazilian outfit Santos.

But Soteldo has other ideas.

Asked his plans and dreams for the future, Soteldo told LaTeleTuya: “To be able to play for Manchester United, but today Santos are in my head 100 per cent.”

£300k Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal have been told to put a £300,000-a-week new contract on the table for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to keep him out of the clutches of the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United.

Aubameyang will have just one year left on his existing deal as of July, presenting a major headache to the Arsenal hierarchy.

Previous reports have indicated that Aubameyang may be willing to stay in north London despite the club’s lack of Champions League football in his time at the Emirates, if his pay-packet is significantly increased.

A rise of over 30 per cent to take his terms to around £300,000 a week could tempt him to turn down interest from elsewhere and remain in the English capital, where he is thought to be happy.

“While I do believe that Arsenal need to fund a rebuild, my preference would be to offer Aubameyang what he wants,” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “Is it possible Ozil could move on? Could this then help fund wages for Aubameyang and others?

“There are differing ways of doing this, but more than anything, I would want Arsenal to renew Aubameyang’s contract for three or four years, if they can. They must give Aubameyang exactly what he wants. There simply aren’t many other players like him at that level.”

Chelsea bid accepted

Chelsea are one of four clubs who have had an offer accepted for Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes, according to transfer expert Duncan Castles.

The Ligue 1 side are willing to sell Gabriel for around €35million (£31m), less than the €45m they wanted for him in January.

“There have, I’m told, now been four offers for Gabriel received by Lille and accepted by Lille,” Castles said on the Transfer Window podcast. “One interesting thing here is that they have reduced their asking price.

“So when we were talking about this in January, the valuation was about €40m-€45m for Gabriel but given the new reality of football, given that Lille are a club that has been dependant on transfer revenue… they have agreed a deal at a total value of €35m including performance-related bonuses.

“Everton one of the clubs who have had an offer accepted, two clubs in Italy have also had offers accepted, and then the fourth club is Chelsea.”

Saul Niguez latest

Manchester United supremo Ed Woodward is growing increasingly confident he can sign Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez, reports say.

But the Spain international won’t come cheap with the Red Devils facing having to pay an eye-watering £135million in order to bring the playmaker to Old Trafford.

The Daily Star say Woodward is convinced he’ll land his man when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

United are still expecting Paul Pogba to leave Old Trafford, with Real Madrid and Juventus both eyeing the 27-year-old and and Saul is seen within the club as the perfect player to replace the 2018 World Cup winner.
