UK weather forecast: Violent winds and torrential downpours to cause CHAOS over weekend | Weather | News

Downpours will bring misery to Britons this weekend, as spring holds off appearing. Friday is forecasted to remain mostly dry, with temperatures around 13C in London. However as the weekend arrives, the possibility of new weather warnings being issued rises.

Met Office meteorologist Emma Salter said:”Friday’s looking pretty nice.

“There will be barely a breath of wind in most places.

“There’ll be scattered showers in some regions of England and Wales but most places will remain dry.

She added: “Scotland and Northern Ireland will get the lion’s share of the sunshine.”

“All change for the weekend, though.

“Friday night we will see a band of rain coming into the west, moving eastwards.

“That doesn’t look too heavy but on Saturday morning the wind will pick up.

One said: “ Fed up with the incessant wind!”

Another replied: “ So rain in Wigan again. YAY.”

A third commented: “ Another cr*ppy weekend to look forward to.”

While a fourth remarked: “ Wish the jet stream would go away from the UK.”

Western parts of the country are likely to be most affected, with scattered showers elsewhere.

There will be a frosty start to the morning in Scotland and northern parts of England.
